A few weeks ago, President Tinubu ordered an investigation and suspended for six weeks the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program and the other NSIP programs managed by the NSIPA Agency. The suspension was prompted by claims of fraud against the program managers.

However, the Minister of Finance, Wale Edu, has stated that the probe is over and that the CCT beneficiaries will soon be paid again.

In a television interview, the Minister made this claim. “We have completed the report,” he stated. “We have completed our draft report and distributed it to the members for their feedback. We are currently making the final adjustments.”

Naturally, we have also prepared to present Mr. President with a temporary proposal to resume direct payments to the most vulnerable and impoverished individuals, even before the report is completed and officially presented.
