One Young World Politician of the Year Award 2024: Merely 2.8% of lawmakers worldwide are under 30, and only 18.8% of Members of Parliament are under 40, according to the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The percentage of MPs under 30 in upper houses is about 74%. An entire generation could become disenfranchised from their country’s political processes if they are underrepresented.
