The South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA) Development Fund invites unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2024.
WHO IS SAMPRA
Sampra is a Collective Management Organisation (CMO) that administers Needletime Rights on behalf of its members. Sampra members are recording artists and record companies or Labels.
SAMPRA NEEDLETIME RIGHTS ROYALTIES
Needletime Rights royalties are music royalties paid to recording artists and record companies whenever their commercially released tracks are used in public by SAMPRA licensed music users such as radio broadcasters, retailers, clubs, etc. Sampras administer over 2 million tracks on behalf of our members.
Position: Internship Programme
Stipend: R6 500 per month

The SAMPRA Development Fund has three internship opportunities for three graduates who want to develop skills and experience in the music industry. The successful interns will be placed at Universal Music Group South Africa (UMGSA).
Two will be placed at the Marketing Department and one will be placed at the Royalties Department of Universal Music Africa in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Applicants must have completed a degree/ diploma in Marketing to qualify for the Marketing internship and a BCom degree with accounting as a major or Financial Accounting diploma to qualify for the Royalties internship.
The successful candidates will get full exposure in Marketing and Royalty processing functions.
The following are key requirements:
- A completed qualification in a relevant field of study;
- No work experience;
- Proof of qualification (certified copy of transcript or qualification);
- Should be close or a driving distance to Rosebank;
- A South African, and
- Passionate about music and possess positive energy.

The internship will be for a period of 12 months at Universal Music Africa. The placed interns will receive a stipend of R6 500.00 per month.
